I forgot to update on the garage sales that our fantastic neighbors had for us. These are some awesome people to spend their time and energy to help bring Olivia home. We are over whelmed by the love they have shown. Words alone can not express how much we appreciate all of their effort. They will forever be part of Olivia's coming home story.
Not one, but two families had garages sales for us. They shared the news of Olivia with people. Some people didn't care to listen and that's ok, but others were quite supportive. The story of one man must be shared. This man had a language barrier, but my neighbor tried to explain that we were adopting Olivia from China and that she would need surgery. He just continued to look at Olivia's picture. He went to his wife to see what money she had. He returned to my neighbor, he was so touched by Olivia that he gave my neighbor the change in his pocket and pointing at Olivia's picture said, "bring her home". It was obvious that it was all he had to give but he felt so compelled to give all that he had. We are so very touched by his willingness to listen to his heart. You never know the seeds that can be planted by God from hearing a simple story of a sweet little girl that is coming home to her family.
Our sweet neighbor, Sidney, wanted to have her own garage sale to help. Sidney will be in 4th grade this fall. God has given her a very big heart for helping others! Sidney spent three days or more on the garage sale and I can tell you she had a big smile on her face the whole time! We are so proud of her! I am sure her parents are as well!
So, a huge shout out to all of our neighbor who helped! Those who held the garage sale, those who gave and those who came to shop! Thank you all so very much! All of the proceeds collected that day will go directly to the cost of Olivia's plane tickets to America! She will be so very grateful!
