Day 9 - Citizenship and Shopping

This morning, we had an early appointment at the US Consulate to begin working on Olivia's US citizenship.  She won't actually become a citizen until we enter the country in Detroit, but we're home free now.

 

Olivia needed some daddy time today.  We went to Shamain Island again today instead of the pearl market.  It was nice to walk the island again and do a bit of shopping.  Doug and Olivia spent some time at the playground.  She had a blast.  I think she went down a slide for the first time a couple of days ago and she caught on quickly. She really seemed to want to connect with a couple of other little girls today.  It was cute!  They are a bit younger than she is and didn't quite catch on.  Our guide has a lot of fun with Olivia because she has a good sense of humor.  We will miss his help in speaking to her and getting her to obey .  The gal who opens the hotel door is also taken by her. She always sees Olivia coming and gives her a big smile and wave.

 

We stopped by the White Swan hotel today for the traditional red couch photo.  This child has no shortage of smiles and loved every minute of it!  She went strong today with no nap.  Such a trouper!  I hope she doesn't hold out like that on the flight home!  We are very proud of the way she behaved today as well. 

 

We leave tomorrow on a train to Hong Kong.  Our time here has been very special but we are anxious to get our girl home to meet her sister and brothers!
